Saturday Morning Update

Friday was an extremely busy day for us. Part of the team were building benches and painting them afterwards. The rest of us were at the school site laying block. We built 4 small wall and started on the front. We carried a lot of block! Heather is becoming an expert mason and is explaining to the others how the job has to be done. They have learned a lot from her.
It was the hottest day so far and some of the team were affected to some extent by the heat and had to take time off to cool down. Everybody is OK though.
Lunch consisted of corn meal lasagna. Supper was some kind of beef soup.
Some of the guys had a soccer game with the Haitians. I don't think we taught the Haitians anything as this is their national game and they are pretty awesome to watch. Ed was our star attraction. Pastor Luckner dislocated his knee and his daughter snapped it back into place.
It is now Saturday morning and we are headed off to Moulin des Sur, a resort. for a day of rest and relaxation and fellowship.

Karen here. What can I say?? This is one awesome group that God has had Gerry put together. Five different churches represented, such different personalities and backgrounds, big age range, but all are one in spirit. The sense of fellowship, fun and pulling together is fantastic. The 'blancs' and the Haitians getting along famously, working side by side, one teaching the other, trying to communicate, and laughing together. Joy and laughter are the same in every language and there is lots of it.

I am a blessed lady to have this group in my home. They are great and a huge support. The sense of lonliness has certainly gone. I will be very sad to see them leave again.

hey there,

I hope you all had a restful day and bonded closer together.

Wayne, I'm doing fine. work is going smoothly. Our house sure is big when you're in it all alone. I've had some dinner invites so I don't have to cook as the books and hair take all my time. lol

I am so thankful that God chose you for me. I am so proud of all of you.

I have so many questions to ask, can't wait to talk to you.

I love you.Enjoy the warmth
